Underwater Survey & Vessel Hull Inspection
Professional underwater vessel inspection services supporting technical checks and hull condition assessments.
Most of what determines how a vessel performs sits below the waterline, where nothing can be seen from the quay. A fouled hull adds drag and fuel consumption; a damaged propeller costs power. Neither shows up until the ship is drydocked, and drydocking means the ship stops earning.
An underwater survey lets that inspection happen with the vessel still afloat. We inspect the hull, propeller, and other submerged areas, document what we find visually, and produce a technical report you can use for maintenance planning or to satisfy a third party’s inspection requirements.

How It Works
How We Carry It Out
01
Planning & permits
We fit the work around the vessel’s schedule and arrange the diving permissions required for the port area.
02
Dive & inspection
The agreed areas are inspected, covering hull, propeller, and other locations within the scope of work.
03
Underwater documentation
Findings are recorded visually, so the condition can be reviewed first-hand rather than taken on description alone.
04
Technical report
Results are compiled into a report setting out findings, supporting documentation, and conditions that warrant attention.
Questions
Frequently Asked
Does the vessel have to stop operating during the survey?
No drydocking is needed. The work is carried out with the vessel afloat, usually while alongside or at anchor, so downtime is far shorter than a drydock inspection.
Is documentation included?
Yes. Underwater documentation and technical reporting are within the scope of work, so the output can be attached to internal records or submitted to a third party.
When should an underwater survey be carried out?
Commonly when performance drops with no obvious cause, after contact with the seabed or an object in the water, or as a periodic check ahead of maintenance planning.
